Our Projects

Due to Urban Dynamics role as project and programme managers, and its involvement in the planning and design of large scale housing projects, Urban Dynamics necessarily became involved in the physical implementation of Housing Projects.

Soshanguve Block W

Urban Dynamics has been constructing houses in Soshanguve for Dev Group for the past 3 years. This includes both Engineering Rafts and Houses. The houses are 40 square meters in extent and have tiled roofs and internal plumbing.

Houses are built on erven where beneficiaries already reside under informal conditions making use of local emerging contractors only. Urban Dynamics contracts the necessary contractors to construct the rafts and top-structures, supplies all building materials to site, distributes materials to the local contractors who have been engaged in the project, provides its own quality controllers on site, supplies and erects the roofs and hands over the houses for final approval to Dev Group and the Department.

The CTMM is responsible for beneficiary screening and approval.

  • Status A total of ±600 houses have been constructed to date, a further 500 are anticipated for the current financial year.

Chief Albert Luthuli

Development of a financial feasibility model to prove project viability. Planning and proclamation of the town. Construction of 3 944 Engineering Rafts (963 to date) and 3 979 Low Income houses (673 to date). Project Management of the total construction programme including the installation of services, environmental rehabilitation, empowerment of local emerging contractors, design of houses and rafts, supply of building materials, construction of houses, contractor management, mentoring, quality control, community and stakeholder interaction, all reporting systems, claims process.
